MORE SCENES FROM MPA -- OUR SCHOOL IN INDIA
Dear Ones,
With the school year—-2007 - 2008—-here at Miri Piri Academy coming to a close there are many events to share with those of you around the world . . . we begin at the gateway to our Academy where the Treasures begin to unfold.
The road leading up to this gate with the school in the distance and the traffic on this road—-rush hour—-not so brutal . . . be certain to wave though, the pony appreciates it.
One of our school buses . . . mile after mile on these vehicles carry our students all over the north of India as ambassadors of alternatives to what this modern world neglects. They are ambassadors of spiritual, psychological and physical character, alternatives found in the values they are learning.
Our Academy Principal Sada Anand Kaur—-pictured with my wife and I—-has been with us for five years now and is one of our most valued Treasures. She is from the Los Angeles Unified School District and could not be more qualified to head our school of unique opportunities in this fast changing world.
Gatherings in the halls and on the playing fields and at the Golden Temple early in the morning are amongst kids—-our greatest Treasures—-who have a "live, work and play" relationship with each other 24/7. In all my work around the world I have never experienced relationships this close anywhere. They last this way far beyond the school . . . I am certain they are for life and since relations are the greatest asset in life, these kids have a super advantage.
Computer labs, science labs, year book planning and yoga—-some of the global benefits in a rural school.
The Twelthee Party put on by the students in the eleventh grade for their graduating brothers and sisters is a highlight of the end of the year. Every one dresses to the 9's in however they are known or want to be remembered.
The teachers and the staff join the party . . .
Spiritual practice and the joys of music, art and creativity are a constant component of this school's activities. Here we see Gurudwara (the practice of Shabd Guru) a tuning of the psyche into the words of enlightenment carried on the songs of divinely calibrated melodies and rhythms.
to be continued . . .

Thank you so much for sharing. The school looks amazing and I am certain deeply wonderful learning is happening. I so enjoy your blog entries. I look forward to them everyday. Thank you for all the work you put into being an awsome leader and teacher. I am so deeply grateful.
