Kundalini Yoga Set - Summer Solstice 40 Day Sadhana

This year in our Los Angeles Summer Solstice 2008 workshop we envisioned moving through the evolutionary process of transforming our personal character to match our preferred mindset (one of the 6 phases—instinctual, inquisitive, intellectual, intelligent, intuitive or infinite).
We recognize that when we continue to recite the same inner story (through thought and words) we are not able to achieve a different outcome . . . yoga and meditation are tools to create an alignment between the body and the mind. With our innate desire to possess an intuitive mind and a worship body these are clearly advanced tools of choice amongst conscious people.

To know more about the work-body / worship-body and the 6 phases of mind, listen to the audio lectures at http://lectures.gurusingh.com/

This is the Kundalini Yoga set that was given at the workshop at Yoga West in Los Angeles for the participants to use in practicing their (follow-up) 40 day practice (Sadhana). We begin here with the exercise diagrams along with the audio of the class from the workshop to guide you with your timings and postures.

Begin by sitting in easy cross leg position and invoking the Divine Presence (teacher) within —- chanting Ong Namo Guru Dev Namo (3 times).

Exercise # 1
Rotate around the bottom of the spine as if—stirring the bowl of the pelvis with the spoon of the spine
Breath = Long and Deep from the navel point and the diaphragm Continue for 1 minute in each direction

Exercise # 2

Roll the head on the shoulders with the hands out to the sides and the palms facing up
Breath = Long and Deep from the navel point and the diaphragm
Continue for 1 minute in each direction

Exercise # 3 BABY POSE
Come into Baby pose with the forehead on the ground and sitting on the heals
Breath = Long and Deep from the navel point and the diaphragm. Continue for 2 minutes

Exercise # 4

Hands—interlace the fingers except for the index—inhale them up above the head and exhale them to just above the ground—DO NOT HIT THE FINGER ON THE GROUND
Breath = with the movement. Continue for 2 minutes

Exercise # 5

Stand straight — hands above the head with the palms facing forward — inhale and bend (ever SO SO slightly back) and exhale resuming the posture straight up Continue for 2 minutes

At the end of this exercise stand relaxing with the eyes closed and mentally fashion 2 arrows of "intent" and place them in a quiver along your spine—long and straight, one pointed focus and perfect feathered guidance.

Exercise # 6 ARCHER POSE
Pick up a imaginary bow in the same hand as the forward leg. Focus you eyes wide open and gaze beyond the walls of the room you are in. Take the imaginary arrow you have fashioned from your quiver and string it on the bow. Pull back with a good force and see the target as in space and time that is beyond this moment.
Breath = Breath of Fire (a rapid breathing from the diaphragm — steady and somewhat rapidly)  Continue for 1 1/2 minutes each side with a 30 second break in between.

Relaxation SHIVASANA

Lie comfortably flat on the back—cover yourself with a blanket—while listening to the relaxation of the body (part by part) Continue for 5 minutes

After this relaxation — resume sitting up in easy pose or on a comfortable chair and begin the meditation in the Blog entry immediately below.

Always with Sacred Love, Blessings, Prayer & Gratitude . . . Sat Nam,
Guru Singh & Guruperkarma Kaur

Yes, I was wondering the very same thing. This was a very good Intro to Kundalini Yoga both the first two days and the following days. I asked folks here at Level 1 about getting copies, but nada. This would be wonderful and help in starting the day in a centered way.
