Class Video (updated) 3HO Summer Solstice 2008 New Mexico
Sat Nam — Dear Ones,
New Mexico —- The Land of Enchantment
Photograph of our lively and vivacious Kundalini Yoga class in our open air shelter—-commonly referred to as The White Tantric Shelter. The weather causes the no walls and a 40 foot high ceiling to dissipate the heat.
Teaching here at the Summer Solstice where 2,000 active Kundalini Yogis are gathered to celebrate our Sun's highlight of the year. Here is the yoga class which will be available (audio, video and transcription) to all those who are signed up at The Guru Singh Global Community.
Morning Sadhana gathers daily at 3:45AM when the entire camp comes together to do prayer, Kundalini yoga, chanting and meditations.
As our Sadhana comes to an end the sun is rising over the tops of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains—-the smell of fresh brewed Yogi Tea fills the air—-and the morning activities begin in earnest.
A camp favorite is the morning Bhangra Dance classes that bring out the blood warming movement of every part of the body. The nights are cool to cold and the days are warm to hot here in the lovely Jemez Mountain foothills.
Yogic warmups before White Tantric Yoga—-Tantric Yoga runs all day for 3 days during every Summer Solstice. This year the weather was very kind to us with cloud covers and light rain showers.
62 minutes of the White Tantric Blind Walk where ten people—-their eyes closed—-are lead through the fields of Ram Das Puri's (Summer Solstice Site) 150 acres by a monitor with eyes open. The Sangre de Cristo Mountains can be seen in the background—-a constant reminder of how clear the air is that we breathe. The water we drink comes from our own well 835 feet deep—-the week of Solstice is spent living in this pure environment.
Miri Piri Academy—-our school in India—-presents an evening talent show. Children of all ages and from all over the world participated. Here, 11 year old Shiv Unter Kaur performs a Bhangra dance while uncle Harimandir Jot Singh joins her.

Inspirational crafts, CD's, DVD's, healing modalities and much more are presented at the Solstice Bazaar! With people here from all over the world participating this Bazaar is like a global marketplace of consciousness. Here, Lisa Schiavello (Gurudeep Kaur) our Art and Brand Director, Jimmy Balodimas (student from New York City) and myself sit at the booth of The Guru Singh Global Community.

Early in the morning, right after Sadhana (yoga, meditation, chanting and prayer) under the shelter of Solstice's main teaching area—-(from the left) Jayson Weisz, Hari Purkh (our daughter), Guruperkarma (my wife), myself, and Jimmy Balodimas. The best way to start the day—-inspired by yoga and meditation and with friends.

Every morning several—-20 to 60—-of us get out of bed at 2:00AM to then at 2:30AM walk through the tents of the camp for an hour, singing to wake up everyone else . . . "Rise up, rise up sweet family dear . . . " We then assemble for our all camp Morning Sadhana at 3:45AM where we do prayer work, Kundalini yoga, chanting and meditation, all before the rise of the sun.

Always with Love, Blessing, Prayer and Gratitude,

Sat Nam!
Thanks so much for the post & the beautiful photos. They are truly appreciated by those of us who didn't make the geographical journey but were there in spirit.
Please write more about your experiences at Solstice & put up more pictures!

I just saw an on line article about adding sites to the list of natural treasures because they are, as stated in the title of "Outstanding Value to Humanity". Guru Singh,I'm adding you to that list and all of us for the values you have taught us. After your 7/4 class one of your students looked at his girlfriend and said, "this is just the beginning". I thought, we don't even know, brother!
Love and Blessings to all,
Terri
