Consciousness breathes a story known as life and every life within this breath has a destiny. This destiny is comprised of the certainty-of-probability and uncertainty-of-possibility. The power of being human is located within the ratio of certainty to uncertainty. We are entrusted to use certainty very, very sparingly — and to use the great uncertainty with great enthusiasm, trust and faith.
With less physical capacities than most other creatures, the human being is blessed to have to work with greater uncertainty. It is a stimulation for greater faith. The more uncertainty you can trust, the more discoveries you are compelled to engage (necessity is the mother of invention). The more discoveries you engage, the more inspiration you naturally invoke. The more inspiration you invoke, the more happiness you will experience. And life was created for the purpose of experiencing the happiness that exists everywhere . . . anytime . . . infinitely.
Human beings have a unique power-story. Heated in the crucible of our pure uncertain existence, all the absolutes — except eternity itself — have been removed from the human script. This is the script located in our active DNA. Working with this uncertainty is the foundation of our true human power. This power-story once commanded entire legends to define it and great myths to describe the surrounding geo-structure. Timespace overflowed with human stories of grace, grandeur and respect.
Since the advent [of] and the obsession with 'certainty'; stagnation produced by the barbaric practices of carnivorous cultivation has reduced these legends to simple superficial tales of — two-leggers stealing time and storing their bounty as cash. Time has now become the god and youth the prophet . . . however false. Experience of living has been replaced by earning a living . . . and time is delivered with a price tag on every breath. The legends of inspiration are all replaced by stories of heroic desperation, great accumulation, competitive preening and violent territorial conquests. Ownership of this illusion is considered a measurement of certainty.
From the greatness they once commanded, today's humans reside amongst their own shadows. Even those "making millions" are merely the bones walking through their former celebration. We no longer comprehend or value our heritage as we sell life for cash.
How much of this definition defines the story you breathe? If you cannot identify with this — if you believe it to be a bit too morbid — do not worry, time has forever. You can get in touch with reality at any time.
But if you realize this as you — and this description resounds somewhere deep in the echoes of your psyche, then have faith; you are awakening. You are aware of the night we have come to . . . and are here to lead humanity back into the day.
Our former lives — those great ones that braved beyond the elements of comfort — the ones that migrated into great risk for greater reward — they still exist in us. This is what we were; it still resides in our DNA, we can reactivate it. We were those iconic heroes with mythology in our brain-waves. We elevated human existence to that of gods and we still have this power in our genes. We have only recently become slaves to group-think — lusting for the certainty that is herded like the domesticated animals we slaughter. We can escape this flaw and once again wield the infinite power of human uncertainty.
Take a moment and meditate: begin from the self-realization of 2007, through the mastery of 2008 and then on to the liberation we have unfolded in 2009 — leap into the practical enlightenment (the Grisht ashram) of 2010. Leap into this coming year and become the legend of your own enthusiasm.
